· The camp is small, blends well with its environment and has undertaken minimal clearing of vegetation around it
· Conservation effort- has increased land available for wildlife by establishing a conservancy and managing it at a cost to the camp
· Extensive use of solar for lighting, with Solapak packs for each tent. They have no back up generator.
· Use of a single energy efficient water heater and use of charcoal briquettes to heat water
· Has a policy on land, water, energy sewage and solid waste management
· Use of the safari shower as a water efficiency measure
· Presence of guest information sheets in rooms
· Community support-most staff are locals (has employed more than 20 of them)
· Community support – pays bed nights to both the owner of the land the camp is on and the group ranch every month. They use the funds for education and infrastructural developments.
